Whole Foods Market | The Domain
This flagship Whole Foods Market grocery store in the northern Austin, Texas community known as The Domain is a dining destination unto itself. At 66,000 square feet, the store offers 11 separate dining zones across two floors, each zone designed with its own distinct character, so that hungry guests can choose from more than 400 indoor and outdoor seats. The coffee bar, tucked underneath the mezzanine floor, is inspired by the look and feel of masculine private libraries of old, where a workspace with a chunky pine beam table mirrors overhead ceiling elements. Just a few feet away are an over-sized, over-stuffed leather couch and leather-lined bookcases and coffee tables. This is followed by a dining area showcasing a custom Texas pecan live edge slab table. At the opposite side of the store, a bar called The Draft Shack appears wholly transplanted from a Texas ghost town. Its front porch, hitching posts, swinging doors, and working chimney combined with reclaimed barrel oak tables and bar stools made using antique tractor seats evoke a turn-of-the-century western saloon.
